Capital Complex HVAC
When indoor air quality problems arose within the New Jersey State House, Miller-Remick was retained to perform a comprehensive evaluation of the HVAC equipment, controls and systems to determine the root causes and develop system-wide designs for correction. We independently verified the design capacity of all systems, performed microbial investigations of ductwork and equipment, determined the current operating configuration of all control systems, and developed comprehensive recommendations for improvement. We designed modifications to over 350 fan HVAC units and controls, and oversaw the installation.

Elementary School Addition
Miller-Remick provided professional engineering & construction services for the construction of a two-story 14,000 square ft addition to the Woodlynne Elementary School.  Our design services included all structural, fire alarm, fire protection, mechanical, plumbing and electrical disciplines.  As part of this project, we connected the new hydronic heating system to the existing boiler plant and designed the new electrical system to back-feed to the existing school.

Historic Museum HVAC
Miller-Remick provided Professional Engineering Services to perform a comprehensive review of the design and performance of all HVAC systems, hot and chilled water supply systems, controls, and system hydraulics in the Old Barracks Museum. We developed HVAC load calculation models for all museum spaces, performed field tests on the existing equipment to determine current system performance, evaluated the capacity of the existing systems versus the calculated space requirements, evaluated the control system, prepared designs and construction cost for recommended system modifications, and reviewed the completed installations.

Hospital Fire Protection
Miller-Remick provided Engineering and Construction Services for the installation of a fire detection and suppression systems to the Raycroft Center on the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital Campus. We performed a comprehensive review of the water system hydraulics. We developed sprinkler system hydraulic calculations and designs for the Center along with detection and alarm systems. Special design challenges included an institutional design that was also protected from the resident patients. Our services included Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection and Controls Engineering as well as Construction Administration.

Library HVAC
Miller-Remick provided Engineering and Construction Services for the installation of a dedicated HVAC system in the New Jersey State Library to serve the central computer and data center linking all library functions statewide. We performed a comprehensive review of the design and performance of the existing HVAC systems, hot and chilled water supply systems, controls, and system hydraulics. We developed HVAC load calculation models for the expanded computer center, and designed a complete new system. Our services included HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection and Controls Engineering as well as Construction Administration.
